Gabriela Ruse will face her WTA 1000 Toronto debut against Anastasia Potapova after winning her first match at the event. Ruse, ranked 77th, defeated Peyton Stearns in the first round with a score of 6-0, 7-5. Despite a slow start in the second set, she made a strong comeback to secure the victory. Following this win, she has moved up to 71st in the WTA Live rankings. The match against Potapova, ranked 27th, is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
