Four defendants involved in the embezzlement of the Romanian Agro-Food Trade House – Unirea SA have reached plea agreements with the National Anticorruption Directorate. These agreements, pending judicial approval, suggest prison sentences ranging from two years and four months to three years, suspended. The case involves a significant financial loss of around 10 million euros due to unreceived products and misrepresented machinery purchases. Established in 2018, the Agro-Food Trade House aimed to support national agricultural production but faced severe operational failures, leading to substantial losses and reliance on imported goods.
