A survey revealed that 94% of restaurant owners have experienced at least one theft, with losses sometimes reaching thousands of euros annually. Notable incidents include stolen bathroom fixtures and high-end knives, with one restaurant losing 40 out of 90 knives in a year. Even chandeliers have been targeted, with customers attempting to hide them. To combat this, some restaurants have implemented strategies like removing valuable items before dessert and adding stolen items to the bill, which often leads to their return.
