The overall interest in Italy is also rising, with an estimated 2.45 to 2.6 million Chinese visitors anticipated in 2026. A notable shift in Chinese tourists' behavior shows a preference for independent travel and local experiences, facilitated by platforms like Xiaohongshu and WeChat. Verona's ties with China, particularly its sister city relationship with Hangzhou, further enhance its appeal to Chinese travelers.
