Avocado has become increasingly popular in Romania, with imports rising significantly over the past decade. The demand has surged, especially in colder months, leading to a sixfold increase in consumption since 2016. This fruit is now commonly used in various recipes, including those for babies, although pediatricians recommend introducing it after eight months. The value of avocado imports has skyrocketed from 6 million to over 49 million euros annually. Different varieties are now available in stores, with the Hass variety being the most common.
