Frontex trimite nave în Canalul Mânecii pentru operațiuni de căutare și salvare a migranților, după întâlnirea dintre liderii Franței și Marii Britanii
Frontex will deploy ships to the English Channel and North Sea to assist in migrant search and rescue operations, following a recent meeting between French and British leaders. Two Spanish vessels will join French patrols from September to October, with a Lithuanian ship participating until January. This move aims to address the increasing migration pressure in the area, where many migrants attempt to cross from France to the UK in overcrowded boats, often risking their lives. The issue of migration remains politically contentious in both countries, with the UK government facing pressure to curb illegal crossings.
