The DNA prosecutors in Timișoara have opened a criminal case regarding financial operations of the local government under Dominic Fritz, focusing on potential misappropriation of funds meant for the Colterm heating company. Investigators are looking into the actions of ten employees, including Deputy Mayor Ruben Lațcău, and suspect that 68 million lei were misused. The case, which is currently in rem, relates to financial maneuvers aimed at saving Colterm through subsidies from the Ministry of Development. A similar investigation was previously closed in 2023.
