Amid intensified Russian drone attacks, he emphasized the importance of Ukraine's territorial integrity for European security. Merz also highlighted Germany's commitment to assist in energy sector repairs and signed multiple agreements with Ukrainian companies totaling approximately 6.5 billion euros. Ukrainian President Zelensky praised the development of new defense technologies and expressed readiness for trilateral peace talks, urging Western allies to increase pressure on Russia.
