The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has expressed its support for Aleksander Čeferin's candidacy for a fourth term as UEFA president. Čeferin announced his candidacy during the UEFA Top Executive Meeting in Berlin, attended by European federation leaders. The FRF's support was decided unanimously by its Executive Committee in May. FRF president Răzvan Burleanu praised Čeferin for maintaining unity in European football during challenging times and for promoting sustainable development within UEFA. The elections will take place at the UEFA Congress on April 22, 2027, in Astana, Kazakhstan.
