Cristian Anton, the head of the Romanian Road Authority, has been indicted for leading a corruption scheme involving exam fraud. He allegedly accepted bribes to facilitate the fraudulent passing of professional certification exams. The investigation revealed that Anton coordinated a criminal group that included other accomplices, who also received bribes from candidates. The total amount involved in the scheme reached significant sums, with Anton receiving over 81,000 euros for ensuring the success of numerous candidates. The authorities have seized assets linked to the case, including cash and luxury items.
