The Pavăl family, founders of Dedeman, now controls companies with over 25,000 employees in Romania after acquiring Carrefour Romania. This makes them the largest employer in the country, surpassing the National Railway Company. Dedeman reported 12,702 employees and a revenue of 13.15 billion lei in 2025, while Carrefour had 12,673 employees and a revenue of 14.18 billion lei, resulting in a combined workforce of 25,375 and total revenues of approximately 27.34 billion lei.
