France suspects Russia has initiated disinformation campaigns targeting politicians ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. Raphael Glucksmann and Edouard Philippe are among those affected. Security services identified a campaign linked to the Russian propaganda network Storm-1516, which aimed to undermine Glucksmann's candidacy. False narratives, including fabricated documents and AI-generated content, were disseminated to discredit figures opposed to the Kremlin. Philippe was also targeted with misleading information regarding his health.
