Around 20,000 people have been evacuated in southwestern France due to spreading wildfires, with significant destruction reported in Gironde. Local officials noted that 3,400 hectares have been affected, and 700 firefighters are currently battling the flames. The prefect confirmed that evacuations are proceeding calmly, with no casualties reported so far. However, rising temperatures and strong winds pose ongoing challenges for firefighting efforts. Similar wildfires have also occurred in Spain and Italy, leading to additional evacuations.
