Around 20,000 people have been evacuated in southwestern France due to spreading wildfires, with significant destruction reported in the Gironde region. Local officials noted that approximately 3,400 hectares have been affected, and around 700 firefighters are battling the flames. Evacuations include 10,000 visitors from campsites, and while no casualties have been reported, the situation remains critical with rising temperatures and strong winds expected. Similar wildfires have also occurred in Spain and Italy, leading to further evacuations and fatalities among firefighters.
