In the first seven months of 2026, the number of building permits for residential buildings decreased by 11.6% compared to the same period in 2025. The most significant declines were noted in several development regions, while Bucharest-Ilfov saw an increase. In July 2026, 2,909 permits were issued, reflecting a slight decrease from June. The total useful area for residential permits also dropped significantly. For non-residential buildings, there was a slight increase in permits issued in July, with a notable rise in useful area in certain regions. Overall, both residential and non-residential permits showed a decline compared to July 2025.
