On Wednesday, a man dubbed "Odious Specimen" by locals illegally cut down two trees in Witting Street, leaving behind debris. Local councilor Ion Enache shared footage of the incident, which lasted over 40 minutes, and confirmed that the intervention was not authorized by the Sector 1 City Hall. The police have been notified to identify the individual responsible. Community members expressed concern over the act, questioning the lack of police patrols in the area. The fine for unauthorized tree cutting ranges from 200 to 1,000 lei, and the local green space administrator can file a criminal complaint for destruction. The trees, however, cannot be replaced.
