The Turkish contractor Mapa's progress on the Boița-Cornetu section of the Sibiu-Pitești highway is criticized for being inadequate, with only 23 out of 48 bridges and viaducts authorized. The Pro Infrastructura Association highlights delays in obtaining environmental permits and slow work on the project, questioning the feasibility of the 2028 traffic opening promise. They emphasize that significant portions of the project, including earthworks, remain unauthorized, leading to potential severe traffic restrictions on DN7. The contract for this section, valued at 4.25 billion lei, was signed in February 2022, with a current physical progress of only 12.6%.
