The Bucharest City Hall is initiating steps to restore Herăstrău Park by acquiring approximately four hectares from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu announced ongoing discussions with the government for the land transfer, based on a 2017 council decision. The area has been closed to the public for years and is in disrepair. Plans for modernization of the park are underway, expected to take about four years. Collaborations with various organizations will focus on management and investment strategies for the park's improvement.
