A resident in Bucharest took it upon himself to maintain a green space after the local government failed to act for five years. Despite his efforts, a public contractor destroyed the area shortly after it was cultivated. The local administration had previously acknowledged the land as public property but allowed illegal parking to persist. Following the destruction, the municipality announced plans for urban gardens on degraded land, which ironically included the very space that had just been cleared.
