The Bucharest City Hall plans to change truck regulations, proposing to eliminate time restrictions and expand restricted zones. The public consultation ended on July 13, and the project is awaiting approval. Currently, trucks over 5 tons are banned in the city center, while those over 7.5 tons face restrictions in semi-central areas. The new rules would allow heavy vehicles to operate without time limits across the city, provided they pay a fee. Concerns have been raised about the impact on local traffic and businesses, as well as the lack of police approval for the project. Until a vote occurs, existing regulations remain in place.
