The building at Lipscani Street 53 in Bucharest has evolved from a theater-cinema to a multifunctional artistic complex, reflecting over a century of cultural transformation. Initially mentioned in 1868, it became a performance venue between 1912 and 1913, designed by architect Dimitrie Herjeu. Inaugurated as Marele Teatru-Cinema "Zaharia" in 1913, it hosted films and theatrical performances. The venue changed names several times, including Cinema Pathé-Palace and Roxy, and served various cultural purposes, including a theater company founded by Tudor Mușatescu. After 1989, it faced challenges but now operates as Teatrul de pe Lipscani and Sala Rapsodia, preserving its original structure.
