In the heart of Bucharest, the Stoenescu House, built between 1892 and 1909, reflects the city's rich history. Originally owned by Maria Gorjan, it was transformed by merchant Gheorghe I. Stoenescu and architect Henri Frager into a refined bourgeois residence. The house witnessed a robbery in 1913 and underwent significant renovations in the 1920s and 1930s. After nationalization during the communist regime, it was returned to its rightful owners post-1990 and restored between 2005 and 2016, earning an architectural award for its restoration efforts.
