Vila Steinebach, formerly owned by Prince Nicolae of Romania, is a significant example of interwar neoromanian architecture. Built between 1915 and 1916, it reflects the personal and royal tensions of its time. Acquired by Prince Nicolae in 1925, the villa became a symbol of his controversial marriage to Ioana Dumitrescu-Doletti, which was declared null by the court. Following his exclusion from the royal family in 1937, the prince donated the villa for educational purposes. The building was nationalized during the communist regime and later returned to private ownership, undergoing restoration after 1990.
