China is enhancing its railway infrastructure with four new high-speed sections launched in late September, connecting various regions and cities. The projects aim to improve efficiency and integrate existing lines with other transport modes. The longest section, Xiong’an to Shangqiu, spans 552 km, significantly reducing travel time. Other sections include Xi’an to Ankang, Yichang to Xingshan, and Harbin to Yichun, each designed to facilitate faster travel and better connectivity. Future plans focus on an integrated transport network, aiming for 180,000 km of railway by 2030, with a strong emphasis on multimodal freight transport and modernization efforts.
