The reopening of Lake Morii Island in Bucharest was celebrated with the West Side Sunset Fest, featuring a concert by the Bucharest Symphony Orchestra. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu highlighted the island's transformation, which includes a new linear park and improved amenities for visitors. The renovation, costing nearly 60 million lei, was funded by European grants and involved extensive landscaping. The island now boasts 3.4 hectares, with 2.3 hectares dedicated to green spaces and the planting of 400 trees. The weekend event includes various activities for families and children, such as sailing simulators and creative workshops.
