Bucharest City Hall has begun installing new tram tracks on Ion Mihalache Boulevard as part of a modernization project. The project covers nearly 7 km and includes adjacent streets. Work is progressing on various sections, including the installation of new poles for tram overhead lines and public lighting. The project aims to enhance the city's tram infrastructure, with ongoing efforts to complete the work section by section. Vice Mayor Stelian Bujduveanu announced the start of these modernization efforts in spring 2023.
