The first five electric regional trains from PESA have been officially handed over to CFR Călători and are ready for operation. This follows a period of delays due to contractual issues. Maintenance payments will be suspended until PESA fulfills its obligation to build maintenance facilities. The trains will serve routes including Bucharest Nord to Brașov and Constanța. An additional five trains will be delivered to Transferoviar Călători next week. The contract for 62 regional trains totals 2.78 billion lei, promising improved comfort and safety for passengers. The introduction of these new trains marks a significant upgrade in Romania's rail services.
