The first Alstom Traxx locomotive has entered commercial service with CFR Călători, part of a contract for 16 units. This locomotive will operate on major interregional routes, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. The project aims to replace older rolling stock with modern, eco-friendly trains, funded by the Modernization Fund. The total project value is approximately 441 million lei, with implementation expected to last until August 2026.
