The Casa Principesei Elisabeta, located on Calea Victoriei, is a historically significant building reflecting Bucharest's evolution. Initially owned by Marie Angèle Polizu-Micșunești, it was acquired by Princess Elisabeta in 1927. The property underwent extensive renovations in 1928, led by architect George Matei Cantacuzino. After the royal family's departure in 1948, the building served various purposes, including as a club and later as a meeting space for the Union of Romanian Newspapers. Despite suffering damage from the 1977 earthquake and subsequent urban development, it hosted several renowned establishments until its abandonment around 2020. Two significant fires in 2024 and 2025 caused severe damage, leaving only the main entrance columns intact.
