The Bucharest City Hall is taking measures to minimize traffic disruption caused by ongoing construction sites, especially with the new school year approaching. Collaborating with the Capital Police and Road Brigade, they convened with contractors and utility operators to discuss necessary actions. Currently, there are 63 active construction sites in the city, with 35 impacting traffic on about 30 major roads. The situation is complicated by the proximity of 230 educational institutions to these sites. The mayor has urged contractors to expedite work and ensure proper traffic management. Specific measures include police presence at critical intersections, phased reopening of tram lines, and postponing new projects where possible.
