The National Bank of Romania will issue a commemorative 100 lei banknote on September 14, celebrating Eugeniu Carada's 190th birthday. The banknote, made of polymer, features a complex transparent window and various graphic elements, including Carada's portrait. A limited edition of 16,000 banknotes and 1,000 special sheets will be available, with prices set at 240 lei for a single note and 840 lei for a sheet of four. Sales will begin on September 15, 2026, through regional branches of BNR.
