The grave of Simona Lahovary, a notable figure in early 20th century Romania and lady-in-waiting to Queen Maria, has been restored and is now part of the Bellu Cemetery tour. Lahovary, from a prominent family, was known for her intelligence and refinement. Her significant role included accompanying Queen Maria on diplomatic missions, notably during a tense visit to Nazi Germany where she discreetly advised the Queen on a controversial statement about Hitler. Today, her grave is accessible for visitors.
