The first lot of the tramway rehabilitation project in Bucharest is the most complex, spanning 18 kilometers and connecting the eastern part of the city to its center. The project faces significant challenges, including unexpected utility issues and poor soil quality. Currently, work is ongoing on 14 of the 18 kilometers, with various stages of construction such as new rail installation, asphalt laying, and utility adjustments. The project is set to be completed by early 2028, according to the City Hall.
