The event coincided with the 100th anniversary of the foundation stone of the "Saint Hierarch Nicholas" church. Archbishop Irineu officiated the Divine Liturgy and highlighted Mihălțan's contributions to the Orthodox faith. A memorial service was held, and the book "Vlădica Ioan Mihălțan, loving father and devoted servant of the ancient Church" was presented, featuring his life and works. Mihălțan served as a priest and later as the bishop of Oradea until his retirement in 2007, passing away in 2008.
