The mayor of Sector 3, Robert Negoiță, announced the construction of an underground pedestrian passage at Republica, expected to take 4-5 months. The project aims to improve traffic flow and connectivity between the metro and public transport stations. The passage will feature four access points, with secure glass surfaces and urban gardens on the roofs. The design includes three corridors totaling 200 meters, linking the metro station to key areas. Construction is ongoing in phases to minimize traffic disruption, utilizing prefabricated beams to expedite the process. Negoiță emphasized the importance of this project for pedestrian safety and traffic management.
