The Tatra trams have been retired from Bucharest's public transport after 53 years of service, marked by a farewell event. The Tatra T4R trams, produced in Czechoslovakia, were introduced in 1974 and have been gradually phased out since 2017. The last of their kind, they were celebrated during the Tatra Festival, allowing residents and tourists to ride them one last time. Following their retirement, two bus lines will have modified routes due to ongoing construction work in the city.
