The history of emergency medical services in Bucharest reveals significant changes over the years, particularly in communication and accessibility. Initially, emergency calls were routed through local police, but in 1908, the Society of Rescue established direct phone lines, improving response times. By 1927, calls became free, and the emergency number evolved over the years. However, false calls posed challenges for the service. A temporary exhibition at the Bucharest Municipality Museum highlights these developments, running until September 6, 2026.
