The Bucharest City Hall has announced the start of restoration works at Curtea Veche, the oldest medieval monument in the city. The project, costing two million lei, will last three months and aims to prevent further deterioration of the site, which has suffered from neglect and weather damage. Planned interventions include roof repairs, wall protection, and the construction of a temporary roof for ongoing archaeological investigations. Curtea Veche has historical significance, having served as a residence for notable rulers and housing a museum until 2015. Previous restoration attempts have failed, highlighting the importance of this new initiative.
