Bucharest's Basarab Passage is undergoing extensive rehabilitation after years of neglect. Although traffic has resumed, visible damage remains in some areas. The city promises full completion by early 2027, having already cleaned and repaired significant portions of the structure. Key improvements include the restoration of concrete surfaces, filling cracks, and replacing dilapidated elements. However, concerns persist regarding the condition of pedestrian areas and rusted railings. Future work will address these issues, including the replacement of protective barriers and the refurbishment of the tram station. The passage had not received maintenance for 15 years, leading to its current state.
