The modernization of the Brașov – Sighișoara railway line has reached a physical completion of 61%, according to CFR Infrastructure. This project is part of the rehabilitation of the Brașov – Simeria line, which is a segment of the Rhine-Danube Corridor, allowing trains to operate at speeds of up to 160 km/h. The project covers approximately 112 km of railway and includes upgrades to tracks, bridges, and tunnels. Key features include electronic centralization systems and the European ERTMS traffic management system, enhancing safety and efficiency. The upgraded infrastructure will also improve travel times and accessibility for disabled individuals.
