CNAIR has submitted the necessary documentation for the environmental agreement revision for the mountainous sections of the Sibiu-Pitești highway, enabling final construction permits. This revised environmental approval will unlock major construction works valued over 1 billion euros each. The process includes technical evaluation, public consultation, and final decision-making in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment. Currently, construction is progressing on sections with existing permits, including the Poiana tunnel and Boița viaduct. Three sections of the highway are under construction, with completion expected between 2026 and 2028.
