The ANAF Anti-Fraud Department has launched a nationwide initiative called ATOM to analyze and trace operations involving second-hand cars. Initially, 35 companies were selected for inspection, with an estimated stock value exceeding 38 million euros. The aim is to ensure that the economic activities of these firms are accurately reflected in their financial records and tax documents. Inspectors will examine various aspects, including the physical presence of vehicles, the origin and commercial circuit of cars, and compliance with VAT regulations. The selection of firms was based on specific risk indicators and available fiscal information. The initiative seeks to identify discrepancies and protect fair competition in the market.
