ANAF has started sending notifications regarding the non-submission of Form 216 for the luxury tax applicable to owners of expensive cars and houses. The notifications emphasize a 15-day deadline for submitting the declaration, warning that failure to comply may lead to automatic payment obligations, including interest and penalties. Property owners with taxable assets exceeding 2,500,000 lei must submit their declarations by September 30, 2026, based on the taxable value determined by the local authorities, not the market price. The form requires personal and property identification details, taxable value, and owed tax information.
