The Bucharest City Hall announced the cleaning of graffiti from the Basarab Passage, which had been vandalized shortly after repairs. Twelve workers spent eight hours restoring the walls through sandblasting and repainting. Local police will monitor the area until surveillance cameras are installed. The passage, inaugurated in 2011, faced tagging issues even before its official reception this year. Plans for a comprehensive surveillance system are underway to prevent future vandalism.
