Fostul șef al Băncii Naționale a Ungariei, un apropiat al lui Viktor Orban, a fost reținut pentru corupție

Former Hungarian National Bank governor Gyorgy Matolcsy was detained amid a fraud investigation involving significant financial damages. Other individuals, including Matolcsy's lawyer and a director linked to properties in Mykonos, were also arrested. The Central Investigation Prosecutor's Office is conducting coordinated operations related to alleged mismanagement at the bank. In September, the bank's leadership filed a criminal complaint regarding fraudulent management and negligence. A parliamentary committee is investigating the scandal, having recently questioned former MPs Lajos Kosa and Erik Banki about their roles. Matolcsy previously faced questioning in a separate case involving pressure on a Hungarian bank.
