Fostul preşedinte al Ecuadorului, condamnat la 5 ani de închisoare pentru corupţie. Lenin Moreno acuză o persecuţie politică
Former Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno has been sentenced to five years in prison for bribery related to a hydroelectric project. The court found him guilty of corruption linked to Sinohydro, a Chinese company, during his vice presidency. Moreno denies the charges, claiming political persecution by Rafael Correa, his predecessor. The case involves around 20 individuals, including family members and a former Chinese ambassador. Correa, who governed Ecuador from 2007 to 2017, has also faced corruption charges and lives in Belgium.
