Fostul deputat Cristian Boureanu, mai sărac cu 1,4 milioane de lire sterline. Banii au fost confiscați de autoritățile de la Londra

British authorities have seized over £1.4 million from former MP Cristian Boureanu at Romania's request, linked to a corruption case. The funds are part of the damages Boureanu owes for his involvement in a bribery scandal regarding the rehabilitation of the Bucharest-Constanta railway. The confiscation followed a request from Romania's Ministry of Justice, based on a cooperation agreement with the UK. Boureanu was previously sentenced to prison for influence peddling but had his conviction annulled due to the statute of limitations. Other implicated individuals also had their sentences canceled, but they are still required to pay damages.
