The Nobel Committee highlighted her efforts in promoting peace and the rule of law amid rising global conflicts. Pillay, 85, was recognized for advocating accountability for war criminals and justice for victims of abuse. This year's prize marks the 125th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize, which has honored 112 individuals and 28 organizations since its inception in 1901. The monetary award is set at 12 million Swedish kronor, approximately 1.2 million dollars.
