Fosta directoare liberală a Palatului Copiilor din București, vizată de acuzații de delapidare
Maria Luciana Marin, a former PNL candidate, is embroiled in a scandal involving the embezzlement of over 48,000 lei from sponsorships intended for children. She allegedly admitted to prosecutors her guilt regarding embezzlement and false declarations. Investigations revealed she misappropriated funds during her tenure as director of the National Palace of Children in Bucharest. Additionally, she reportedly won nearly 280,000 lei from gambling, which she failed to declare. Marin was replaced by Teodora Tatiana Popa after police raids at the institution. She had previously run for the Chamber of Deputies in 2024, presenting herself as a dedicated child support specialist.
