After a decade of dedication, Alex Nicolae, a 28-year-old athlete from Sibiu, will represent Romania at the World Armwrestling Championship in Japan. Formerly a military member, he now works as a fitness coach and sports teacher for children. Alex discovered armwrestling in 2016 and has since committed to the sport, training intensively. He is the only Romanian competitor at the championship due to financial constraints faced by others. With two kilograms left to lose for his weight category, he recently competed in a higher weight class, achieving podium success. His journey has been supported by local sponsors and training partners, emphasizing the importance of community support in achieving his dreams.
